지인에게 추천받아 알게 된 카사노바의 음반을 구하기 위해 이베이를 뒤져야 했습니다. 스트레이트의 1집에 실렸던 Burning Love와 함께 이 곡은 그들의 노래중에서 가장 좋아하는 곡입니다.

할 수만 있다면 많은 얘기를 하고 싶은 밴드인데 제가 아는 정보가 없습니다. 위키에도, 헤비메탈 정보를 다루는 사이트에서도, 구글에도 그들의 정보를 찾기가 쉽지가 않네요. 물론 작정하고 뒤지면 나오기는 하겠습니다만...

92년이면 아직 헤비메탈이 힘을 쓰고 있었을 때인데 이런 괜찮은 곡이 빛을 발하지 못했던 것은 엉터리처럼 보이는 그들의 밴드 이름도 한몫 했을 것으로 생각합니다. 

밴드 연주야 특출난 몇몇의 밴드를 제외하면 다 비슷하게 들립니다. 그러면 대중의 선택은 멜로디와 보컬의 역량인데 스튜디오 사운드가 이정도로 나와주면 빌보드의 끝자락이라도 걸쳐야 정상인데 그들은... 미국과 세계 시장이 얼마나 넓은지, 숨은 강자가 얼마나 많은지 새삼 느낍니다. 만약 그들이 정상적인 밴드명으로 80년대 후반에 데뷔해 대형 레이블의 지원을 등에 업었다면 적어도 윙어나 슬로터 정도의 인기는 끌 수 있지 않았을런지요.

Burning Love만큼 강렬하지는 않지만, 이곡도 한방에 귀에 쏙 들어오는 멜로디를 가진 좋은 곡입니다. 다만 단점이라면, 모든 팝 메탈 밴드들이 그렇듯이 조금 빨리 질린다는 것이죠. ^^
